Why did you start taking Time Capsules?
We saw that a lot of customers were sending in Mac minis and plugging in external hard drives so that they could have a remote place to backup their data from home or the office. There were also a lot of customers using their Mac minis as file servers only. We saw that a Time Capsule would be ideal for these customers since there is less hardware cost and minimal setup and maintenance.

Why should I choose Macminicolo.net?
We've been colocating Mac minis for years now and have become the experts in this niche market. Apple even links to us directly from the official Mac mini page. Time Capsules are similar to the size and resource needed for Mac minis so it's a perfect fit.

Do I get my own Time Capsule?
Absolutely. Your data is valuable and must stay secure. You own the hardware so it is completely under your control. It is stored in a high security data center behind multiple security checkpoints.
But on this note, you're welcome to use your Transport service for as many machines as you'd like. Backup all the machines in your office. Backup all the Macs in your family. It's your choice.

How do I get started?
Head over to the pricing and signup page to choose your options and enter your information. On signup, you'll receive all your network information so you can get your machine setup and sent in. Or if you've purchased a Time Capsule from us, we'll have it setup and online within a couple days. It's that simple.

How long will it take to backup my data?
That really depends on your upload speed and the amount of data you're wanting to back up. It'll likely take hours and possibly days for the initial backup. However, once the data is all there , the hourly backups will be incremental and should not take long at all. As a bonus, you'll receive extra bandwidth the first month to get the initial backup done.

Alternatively, you can do your full backup before sending your Time Capsule into our data center. Once installed, you'll still be able to do incremental backups.

How do I control my account with Macminicolo?
See our support site.

What if I need help with my machine?
The Time Capsule is designed to run 24/7 with a server-grade hard drive. But if your machine has trouble, you can use the remote power control. This will allow you to turn on and off the electricity to the Time Capsule. It is accessible from the web, password protected and assigned one per machine. You can also ask us to give some Remote Hands.

How much does it cost?
Prices start at $39/mo. See our pricing page for details.

Why is this better than other online backup solutions?
The time capsule offers an AFP connection that will allow you to use Apple's Time Machine backup application (and restore from it as well.) It runs seamlessly with your Mac and allows for you to grab different versions of your documents and other data. Another valuable benefit the knowledge that your data is secure. It is on your personal machine and you are the only one with access to it. When you're done with the service, we ship the Time Capsule back to you so you know that all of your data is safe and in your possesion.

Do you have instructions on how to set it up??

Do I have physical access to my Time Capsule?
